As young Christians we come against many issues which we struggle to deal with, one of which is trust! Trust plays a vital role in our Christian lives. To trust in, or just to trust can build us up and destroys guilt (one of the devils choice weapons which he uses against us). To be untrustworthy or lack the ability to trust breaks our spiritual protection and creates secrecy making it harder for us to deal with problems we may be struggling with.
Faith is trust, trust is love, love is God, God is the Head and we are members of His body, these links demonstrates our needs and who we are, notice where trust sits between faith and love, Faith is what God wants us to have in him and love is who God is and we are images of God, frankly speaking our struggles needn't be a struggle.
When I speak of young Christians I am referring to the level of spiritual maturity.
For some of us previous experiences have left us damaged to the point where, when we sin we find justification and consolation in facts like no one know what’s going on unless we tell them and "come on that’s not gonna happen" In church? With all the gossiping and backbiting, we see trust is a luxury which we can not afford; bearing in mind also others are doing worse, and in comparison we're ok.
For others, just the fear alone of being judged or rejected by our spiritual family prevents us from laying down our burdens and lightening our heavy load.
There are those whose reason for the lack of trusts in members of the body of Christ saddened me. The lack of time we have for one another, we call ourselves a family yet we have little or no time for members of this unit, sometimes we have no idea how each other is faring in the weathers of life. Caught up in ourselves, selflessness is a word that does not exist in our vocabulary and if it does, it is written in fine print. By our actions or the lack of it, (and I am guilty of this) we send out messages, that we don't care and not caring means we don't truly love, this is how easy it is to loose a soul. Some souls are hard to gain but if care is not given in its maintenance it can easily be lost. We needn't struggle alone because it was never intended to be this way.
How do we as members of the body work together rather than working in organised fragments or random parts? Do we love each other in the way Christ wants us to love? Or are we false imitations of Christ?
I use to be a Sunday Christian, now I’m an all the time Christian, it was a conscious decision I made recently as I felt the need to re-examine myself. What I discovered was a need to change and improve my performance in love and support for others, I realised that when I apply myself to others God will apply himself to me, so I do not need to think about myself only put my trust in Him.
Does this make you think? What will you do for love?
